Check-in was quick. my room, a premier king bedroom, had two armchairs and a small table. I could relax. the bathroom was spacious. It included both a bathtub and a separate shower. we loved the pool. but the view was amazing!

the check-in process was frustrating. only one staff member worked the desk. the lack of urgency and the dismissive attitude from another staff member soured my experience, so it wasn't acceptable. the internet connection was unstable, made working remotely difficult, too

The architecture of the building is undeniably special. I received a surprise birthday upgrade when i returned from a day out. the location proved ideal. I arrived at midday, dropped off my luggage, and enjoyed a relaxed lunch and drinks at the bar. i then ventured into central for my exhibition at tate modern.

the hotel front desk calls its service a 'butler service', i feel this is misleading. the toilet is in a small corner where it is difficult to reach the toilet paper when seated. the bathtub's water was not very hot so i had to boil water myself to get a hot bath.

The service team was kind, hospitable, and helpful, really setting the tone for the stay. Romain r, head of guest experience, showed amazing attention to every detail. his role ranged from check-in to escorting to the room and he acknowledged my titanium member status benefits, a lovely touch.

The common areas, including the lobby, restaurants and bars, had amazing vibes. The room overlooked the station and it was very comfortable. public areas were designed in a very ornate way and retained the original features of the building.

The hotel is directly accessible from the station. The hotel offers a spa and pool with good hours, and I found it empty at 7 PM. The public spaces look lovely. The designers did a superb job.

i was beyond frustrated with several aspects of my stay. the minibar's complimentary status, as promised, became a complete mess. i got charged anyway. dealing with the billing issue took far too long, especially with unresponsive emails from management. it reminded me of the hotel didn't care to resolve it efficiently.

The location is convenient if you plan to use the train. access to the eurostar terminal is easy from the hotel. i also liked the architecture of the public areas. It was like traveling back in time.

The check-in process was not smooth. i waited in line for a while, and there was only one person working at the desk. the staff seemed understaffed, leading to delays. also, the bathroom needed a deeper clean. I noticed cracked floor tiles.

the location was certainly convenient, especially since i was arriving by train.

The room felt a bit underwhelming (like a throwback to the early 2000s), and i noticed a few maintenance issues, such as a faulty shower head and a non-functional bedside lamp. i also wasn't thrilled about the noise levels at night. Street noise was pretty noticeable, even with the windows closed. these small things collectively detracted from the overall experience. For what i paid, i anticipated things should be more updated and quieter.
